Workshop | Carpathian cross-stitch embroidery | Małgorzata Polańska-Kubiak | 18+ | REGISTRATION opens on 11 August
About
Cross-stitch embroidery was especially popular among communities in the Carpathian region. As one of the oldest embroidery techniques, it involves crossing two stitches to form an “X.” A key rule: the top stitch must always be laid in the same direction to maintain a clean, uniform look.
In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of the technique while creating a bookmark inspired by traditional Carpathian motifs—featuring the region’s distinctive geometric patterns, such as diamonds and squares.
