We are looking for artisans dedicated to traditional crafts and folk art—creators who consciously draw from local traditions, ancient patterns, and time-honored techniques. We deeply value the knowledge and skills passed down through generations, whether through family lineage or a master-apprentice relationship.
While we appreciate folk art in its purest, unchanged form, we also see great value in creative, conscious interpretations of tradition. Membership in official folk art organizations is not required. However, we do ask that our artists provide live demonstrations of their craft at their stalls. By showcasing the making process, we celebrate and uphold the true authenticity of the art we promote
The Jagiellonian Fair brings together masters of numerous traditional disciplines. Explore stalls dedicated to: Sculpture | Painting | Pottery & Ceramics | Embroidery | Lace-making | Basketry | Toy-making | Ritual & Decorative Art | Instrument Making | Weaving | Blacksmithing
…and many other unique crafts that draw from deep-rooted regional traditions.
If you are interested in participating in the next edition of the Jagiellonian Fair (part of The Re:tradition Festival), please submit your application including the following details:

Stall Preparation & Authenticity: Please plan your display according to the type of stall assigned to you (e.g., a tent vs. a wooden hut). Bring your own decorative materials and enough stock to last for all three days. Important: Only products handmade by the invited artist may be displayed. We do not permit the resale of third-party items.
Live Demonstrations: We strongly encourage all artists to perform live demonstrations of their craft. This highlights your expertise and the authenticity of your work. If you plan to demonstrate, please remember to bring all necessary tools and raw material
Stall Opening Hours (2026) Specific opening hours for the 2026 stalls will be announced soon.
Please note that the festival spirit continues long after the stalls close! While the Fair operates during the day, the evening program features concerts starting at 19:00, followed by traditional dance parties that run late into the night
A designated parking area for exhibitors is located at Plac Zamkowy (Castle Square). Please note that access is strictly limited to vehicles whose license plate numbers have been submitted to us in advance.
Entry permits are approved and issued by the City Office. You have until one month before the festival to submit or update your vehicle details. After this deadline, we cannot modify your declaration or issue a new permit. Without a valid permit, you will be unable to enter the festival grounds or access the parking area
YES! Every year, we hold the Jagiellonian Fair Artisan of the Year competition. During the event, a dedicated jury of ethnologists and folk art experts visits each stall to evaluate the craftsmanship.
The jury focuses on the mastery of the work, its adherence to traditional patterns and techniques, and the overall aesthetic of the display. After reviewing all participants, the committee grants awards and honorable mentions:
Winners: Receive specially designed promotional postcards featuring their work to help share their artistry with a wider audience.
Honorable Mentions: Receive an automatic invitation to participate in the following year’s festival.
Additionally, the committee provides expert feedback to the organizers, suggesting ways to continue evolving and improving the Fair’s artistic standards.
Are you passionate about teaching? As an exhibitor, you have the opportunity to hold formal workshops during the festival. Simply highlight your teaching experience and workshop ideas in your application. Each year, we select about a dozen unique sessions to highlight in our public schedule.
At the heart of The Re:tradition Festival is a meaningful dialogue between masters and the public. We encourage you to be an ambassador for your craft—talk to the tourists, tell them about your region’s history, and give them a hands-on glimpse into your demanding work. Artisans who go above and beyond to engage the public are the true soul of our event!
If you need assistance or have additional questions during the event, please visit the Festival Office at Grodzka 7 (in the heart of the Old Town). We will do our best to help you resolve any problems and ensure you have a smooth festival experience. ;)
