All you need to know before leaving home

You probably know this festival well. Until 2021, it was known as the Jagiellonian Fair. Its spirit has remained the same. It’s a joyful celebration of traditional music and crafts, set against the backdrop of Lublin’s Old Town. The programme includes a vibrant folk art fair, concerts of traditional and tradition-inspired music, hands-on workshops, a playground of old-time games and activities, as well as dances, performances, exhibitions, and presentations. We usually share the full festival schedule in early August.

For many years, the festival has taken place in the second half of August. In 2026, it will be held from 21 to 23 August, and we warmly invite you to join us.

You will find us in the streets, squares and alleys of the Old Town and in the Dom na Podwalu in Lublin.

Head towards Lublin Old Town!

Check how to get to the Festival…

…by bus

Jakdojade – set your destination – e.g. Muzeum Narodowe – Zamek, Centrum Handlowe VIVO! or Brama Krakowska.

Tickets can be purchased at kiosks, ticket machines at bus stops and on most buses. You can also use a mobile app. You can find the current ticket prices here

…by bike

You can check the map of bicycle paths in Lublin here.

We welcome all active cyclists with open… gates, but remember that cycling is prohibited on the Festival grounds.

We have prepared an unguarded bicycle parking area especially for cyclists. Just lock your bike and you’re good to go.

Don’t have a bike with you? No problem – check where to find Lublin city bike stations.

…by scooter

You can rent electric scooters in Lublin. The operator is Bolt. The nearest parking spots are located at Zamkowy Square and by the VIVO! shopping centre on the Unii Lubelskiej Alley.

You can bring your own scooter onto the Festival grounds, but remember that you cannot ride it there. We do not have a charging zone, storage facility or dedicated scooter parking. We invite you to use the bicycle parking area instead.

…by car

During the Festival, it is difficult to find a free parking space, so we encourage you to use public transport.

If you really want to drive to the Festival, set your navigation to Targ pod Zamkiem on the Unii Lubelskiej Alley or to the Zamkowy Square. However, due to the needs of our artists, most parking spaces at the Zamkowy Square will be temporarily occupied. We encourage you to use the nearby car parks.

Lublin also has a Paid Parking Zone. You have to pay for parking from Monday to Friday, 8:00-18:00. On Friday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, parking is free. Look for parking meters or install the CityParkApp, which will help you pay for parking.

Only cars with permits issued by the Lublin City Office may enter the Old Town.

…by taxi

Transport companies operate throughout Lublin – Bolt and Uber, as well as traditional taxi companies. You can find selected phone numbers on the Tourist Inspiration Centre website.

I’m coming from further away – how do I get to Lublin?

The best way to find your route to Lublin is to use your navigation app :) It is best to set your hotel as the destination. During the Festival, it is very difficult to find a parking space close to the Old Town. We recommend travelling from your accommodation to the Old Town by bus, city bike or on foot.

How do I get to the Festival from Dworzec Lublin?

The railway and bus station in Lublin is some distance from the Old Town – 2.5 km away. The walk may take you around 30 minutes. The route is not particularly scenic, but it is extremely straightforward – you don’t need to turn anywhere. After leaving the station, head onto 1 Maja. Follow it all the way to Rondo Lubelskiego Lipca ‘80 and continue straight ahead onto the Unii Lubelskiej Alley.

The journey from the railway and bus station by public transport takes around 15 minutes. Look for connections that will take you to the Muzeum Narodowe – Zamek stop.

Buses on the following lines depart from the Dworzec Lublin 52 stop:

  • 5 (direction Mełgiew)
  • 22 (direction Pliszczyn or Zawieprzyce)
  • 24 (direction Nasutów – kościół)
  • 52 (direction Świdnik Duży-Leśniczówka)

You can find the events designed especially for young festival-goers here.

During this year’s Festival, children and their guardians will once again be welcomed to a unique space for intergenerational play. The Re:tradition Playground, in its new location (the garden of Dom na Podwalu), will be filled with traditional games and toys made by craftspeople, performances, family music workshops, as well as engaging tales and stories that will spark the imagination of young listeners.

During the festival, the streets of the city can become crowded, and with so much happening, it’s understandable that it can be easy to get lost. When you visit the Re:tradition Playground in the garden of the Dom na Podwalu, you can pick up a special wristband for your child. Just write your phone number on it and fasten it securely to their wrist. If your child gets lost, the wristband will make it much easier for someone to reach you quickly and help reunite you without delay.

The complete directory of folk exhibitors is available on our website.

Once we have selected the invited artists for the Jagiellonian Fair, we work with them to finalise the necessary documentation and media permissions. Because we wait for these official confirmations to ensure all information is accurate, our artist list is updated gradually from mid-April until August.

We love pets. But because the festival attracts thousands of visitors and features intense lights and sounds, the streets can become stressful for animals. To keep your pets safe and happy, we recommend they sit this one out, even if they are accustomed to such situations. We  leave our  four-legged friends at home.

Everyone who qualifies to take part will receive a confirmation email. When you arrive for the workshop, just give your name to the facilitator – they’ll check you off the list.

You are more than welcome to take photos at most festival events! However, please be aware that certain concerts or performances may have photography restrictions. In these cases, we will update the event description on our website, place signage near the stage, and have our MC make an announcement before the show.

When visiting the fair, please remember that each stall is a creator’s personal space. If you would like to photograph an exhibitor or their unique crafts, we kindly ask that you request their permission first.

Oh! There are so many wonderful things to see and do, but we won’t list them all here – there simply wouldn’t be enough space. You can visit the Tourist Inspiration Centre (ul. Jezuicka 1/3, tel. +48 533 391 569) for more tips and recommendations.

We invite you to explore accommodation options on the following websites: nocowanie.pl, booking.com, and lubelskie.travel. They will help you find suitable accommodation.

A paid public toilet is available on Zamkowa Street and in Litewski Square – open daily from 6:00 to 22:00.

We also provide portable toilets on the festival grounds.
