Zbigniew Kotowicz turned to woodcarving in 2015, discovering a new creative calling after health issues forced him to leave his previous profession. He found a mentor and guide in Jan Pawłowski, a respected sculptor from Włodawa, who helped him navigate his early artistic path. Today, Zbigniew is an active member of the folk art community, frequently participating in exhibitions, fairs, and outdoor sculpting workshops. His portfolio spans a wide range of subjects, from profound religious themes to scenes capturing the essence of traditional rural life. His work has become a tangible part of the regional landscape; his sculptures can be found in churches, featured in large-scale Nativity scenes at cultural centers, and housed within traditional roadside shrines.
Zbigniew is a member of the Association of Folk Artists, continuing the rich heritage of Polish devotional and regional sculpture.
