Yelena Huretskaya has been plaiting wicker since 1996. Her grandmother taught her to make household items, while Yelena also learned the craft from an artist from Babruysk. She uses different varieties of wicker for her work. She has been a member of the Belarusian Folk Artists’ Association since 2004. She’s also a lecturer at the university in Minsk.
