Teresa Buczyńska’s speciality is shuttle tatting, which she has been practising since 1976 when she completed a lacemaking course. Her mother, Salomea took part in a similar course, while her father, Tadeusz Jankowski, learned the craft from his daughter in 1988. The gossamer lace is made with a shuttle and cotton yarn. The patterns are original creations. Among her works, you will find doilies, collars, Christmas decorations and jewellery, among other things. Teresa Buczyńska has been a member of the Folk Artists’ Association since 2011 and since 2015 a member of the ”Supełek” Club by the Voivodeship Centre of Cultural Animation (WOAiK) in Toruń. Currently, she is the club’s chairperson. She has received the Decoration of Honor Meritorious for Polish Culture.
