Olha Matviychuk is a multidisciplinary artist who specialises in traditional embroidery, vybijka (Ukrainian fabric block printing), and reverse glass painting.

Her journey into folk art began in 2020 through her collaboration with the masters of the “Creative Heritage” NGO. Over the following years, she expanded her repertoire to include the traditional craft of handmade beeswax candles.

The ceremonial towels (rushnyks) found at Olha’s stall are deeply rooted in the traditions of Obukhiv. These works are easily identified by their striking red threadwork, featuring rich botanical motifs—specifically the Tree of Life with its delicate, winding branches.

The cultural significance of this artistry was formally recognized in 2023, when the tradition and method of crafting the Obukhiv “sewn” towel were inscribed on Ukraine’s National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
