Henryk Adamczyk is the only member of his family who specialises in sculpture. He’s self-taught. His adventure began in 1974. His work focuses on people, their work in the fields, and village life. The figures he carves are often dressed in regional costumes from Łęczyca. Many of his carvings depict crafts or rituals. One of his favorites is the figure of the devil Boruta. In his work he brings to life characters from the legends of Łeczyca, which in addition to Boruta include peasants, nobles, members of the court and miners. He is a member of the Folk Artists’ Association.
