Hailing from Stryszawa, Danuta continues the region’s popular toy-making traditions. Guided by the artistry of her grandparents and parents, the Leśniak family, she learned the craft from a young age. Danuta’s whimsical figures are born from pine or linden wood. Her unique hand-painted designs, inspired by both personal vision and family heritage, give each piece a distinct soul.Danuta’s stall showcases a delightful collection of bird sculptures, perched on wires, nestled in bushes, or cozy in nests. A dedicated member of Folk Artists’ Association nd the Local Action Group Podbabiogórze, she collaborates with the Regional Cultural Centre in Bielsko-Biała. Her exceptional talent has been recognised with awards for her folk art and local products.

Żywiec and Sucha Beskidzka toy-making traditions were inscribed on Poland’s National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2016.
