Andrzej Kozłowski is a woodcarver whose artistic journey began in 1970. His early works, a crucifix and a Virgin Mary statue, reflected his deep spiritual connection. Inspired by the rich tapestry of tales and legends from his native Świętokrzyskie region, Kozłowski has created a captivating body of work. His series, including Devils and Witches, Sabbath on Łysa Góra, and Legend of St. Emeryk, delve into the region’s folklore, while Panorama of Świętokrzyskie, Marketplace, and Musicians capture its vibrant life.

Kozłowski’s artistic expression extends to the intimate realm of family life, with sculptures and reliefs portraying the tender moments of engagement, marriage, motherhood, and childhood.

A master of his craft, he transforms linden wood into intricate forms using chisels, axes, and knives. As a member of Folk Artists’ Association and the “Skart” club in Skarżysko-Kamienna, Kozłowski is a respected figure in the artistic community. His significant contributions to folk art have been recognised with the prestigious Golden Cross of Merit.

Sharing his life and artistic passion with his wife, Lucyna Kozłowska, a talented papercut artist and painter, completes this remarkable artistic partnership.
