Performance | The Little Passion: The dog who walked with Christ | Teatr Latarnia (POL) | adults and children 10+
About
Inspired by an apocryphal fragment of Władysław Reymont’s The Peasants, this captivating play follows a poor man slowly pulling a cart with all his meagre possessions. As he shares the touching story of his lost dog, the tale gently transforms into the legend of Burek – the first domesticated dog who, accompanying Jesus on his travels, made peace with humankind and became humanity’s faithful friend forever.
Little Passion… is a subtle, moving, and at times humorous story. Through the harmony of its theatrical elements, it unfolds as a cohesive, universal parable about life, suffering, and the power of true friendship.
A touring production, it has been staged at more than 30 festivals across Poland and Europe for audiences of all ages, and performed on numerous professional stages. In Białystok, it premiered both at the School Theatre of the Białystok Academy of Dramatic Arts and at the Dramatic Theatre, and for nearly three years was part of the repertoire of the legendary Wierszalin Theatre in Supraśl.
The show received the Special Prize at the 11th Józef Szajna International ZDARZENIA Festival in Tczew – an invitation to perform at the Roma Teatro Festival in Rome.
