Film screening | The Children of Noisy Village | dir. Lasse Hallström (SWE)

As part of the Re:tradition festival, we invite you to two film screenings.

On Saturday, we will watch “The Children of Noisy Village” (1986), and on Sunday “More About the Children of Noisy Village” (1987) – film adaptations of one of Astrid Lindgren’s most popular books in Poland. Interestingly, the writer also co-authored the screenplays for the adaptations prepared by director Lasse Hallström, and both films were shot, among other locations, at her father’s family home.

This is a warm and humorous story about six children and their families living in the tiny Swedish village of Bullerbyn, where there are only three farmhouses. We discover the everyday life of its inhabitants, local customs, and traditions connected with seasonal celebrations. The extraordinary adventures of three boys – Lasse, Bosse, and Olle – and three girls – Lisa, Anna, and Britta – can inspire all children and their parents. They can also remind us adults how much joy can be found in ordinary, simple days spent surrounded by nature and loved ones.

The screenings are intended both for families with children and for adults who would like to return to the years of their childhood.
