A passionate advocate for traditional music, Maria embarked on her musical journey in 2011 upon first hearing the mazurka. Since then, she has dedicated her career to exploring and performing this genre. A versatile musician, she is proficient in the fiddle, frame drum, baraban drum, and bass, and also possesses a captivating singing voice. Her unwavering commitment to authenticity is evident in her extensive field research and archival studies. Maria’s core artistic focus lies in bringing traditional music to life through live performances, particularly for dances. She has achieved remarkable success with ensembles such as Kożuch (Grand Prix at the Polish Radio Folk Festival “New Tradition” in 2016), Dobrzeliniacy (first prize at the 49th National Festival of Folk Bands and Singers in Kazimierz Dolny in 2015), and Lunaria, a group dedicated to exploring the feminist dimensions of folk music.

Demonstrating a willingness to experiment, she also collaborates with contemporary musicians and ensembles, including Radical Polish Ansambl (second place at the Polish Radio Folk Phonogram of the Year 2019) and the emerging band Vous. Her impressive resume boasts collaborations with renowned artists like Bernhard Lang, Cezary Duchnowski, Marek Pospieszalski, Wacław Zimpel, Grzegorz Tarwid, and Maniucha Bikont. With performances across Poland (Warsaw Autumn Festival, Sacrum Profanum, Kody, All the Mazurkas of the World) and internationally (Tallinn, Prague, Paris, Vienna, Curitiba), Maria has captivated audiences with her unique musical vision.S he graduated from the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź with degrees in violin (2013) and music therapy (2014).
