Magdalena Tejchma, Polskie Radio S.A., will host the concerts taking place as part of the Re:tradycja – Jarmark Jagielloński festival.

Magdalena Tejchma – ethnomusicologist, musician, journalist at the Folk Culture Radio Centre (Polskie Radio) since 2015, and producer of concerts and recordings. She is a juror of festivals, music competitions and phonographic competitions related to folk and traditional music. She has worked professionally with festivals including “Skrzyżowanie Kultur”, “Nowe Epifanie” and “Pieśń Naszych Korzeni”; institutions such as the National Library, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the “Muzyka Zakorzeniona” Foundation, as well as with music projects and album recordings (including Fanfara Awantura “Prawdziwie Polskie Techno”, Bastarda “Kołowrót”, Wernyhora “Toloka”). On Polish Radio’s Channel Two (Dwójka), she hosts programmes devoted to Polish folk culture and world music, including “Źródła” and “Nokturn”. She is a co-creator of the latest instalments in Polish Radio’s album series “Muzyka Źródeł”. In addition to Polish traditional music, she specialises in the music of Turkey (field research conducted in 2008–2010), Afghanistan and Central Asian countries. She regularly writes extensively for “Ruch Muzyczny”, including on musical traditions subject to oppression. She is a panelist for the Transglobal World Music Charts. Since 2022, she has chaired the EBU (European Broadcasting Union) radio expert group on folk and traditional music.
