Krajeczka is a children’s traditional singing group that was spontaneously formed in 2021, during preparations for the 10th anniversary celebration of the Przemyśl-based Krajka ensemble. Initially, it consisted of young children of Krajka’s singers, but the group soon expanded, and Krajeczka developed into a regularly active band.

From the very beginning, the children have been working with Tatiana Nakonieczna – folklorist, cultural animator, scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, and recipient of the Bronze Medal “Zasłużony Kulturze Gloria Artis”. A few months after the group was founded, the full-scale war in Ukraine began, which also affected the ensemble’s story. Children who found safe refuge in Przemyśl joined Krajeczka. At that time, experienced choir conductor from Kyiv Ivanka Danyleiko began working with the group as a second instructor, responsible for the children’s vocal and technical training. The ensemble’s repertoire is selected by Tatiana Nakonieczna.

In 2022, Krajeczka was invited to take part in a joint project with Polish Radio. The result of this collaboration was the unique two-disc album “Krajeczka. Piosenki, gry i zabawy dla dzieci”. The children were accompanied by outstanding musicians from Poland and Ukraine, as well as singers from the traditional singing group Krajka. The recordings were made at Polish Radio’s S4 Studio. The album is not only a collection of traditional children’s songs, but also includes instrumental accompaniments that can be used for singing together at home.

Since then, Krajeczka has performed, among others, in Warsaw, at the Polish Radio studio, at festivals in Elbląg and Koszalin, as well as during numerous events and concerts in Przemyśl.

The ensemble also took part in the album “Muzyczna Antologia Nadsania”, which received a Special Award in the “Fonogram Źródeł” competition for 2024. On the album, Krajeczka performs several a cappella songs as well as pieces accompanied by the professional folk band HrayBery.

The ensemble’s repertoire consists primarily of traditional Ukrainian songs from the south-eastern region of Poland: spring hajiłki songs, humorous songs, play songs, singing games, carols and other forms of children’s and ritual traditional repertoire.
