The repertoire of the Jagiellonian Fair Orchestra includes polkas, oberkas, podróżniaki, waltzes, foxtrots and other melodies originating from archival recordings, family traditions, and those passed down by musicians of the oldest generation and orchestras whose traditions date back to the beginning of the 20th century. The pieces arranged and performed by the Orchestra come, among others, from the repertoire of: the Brass Band from Zdziłowice, the Brass Band from Wola Gródecka, the Stanisław Mróz Band from Makowiska, the Dudek Family Band from Zdziłowice, the Brass Band from Goraj, the Wojciechów Band from Wojciechów, the “Kurasie” Family Band from Lubzina, the Bździuch Brothers Band from Aleksandrów, as well as the singing repertoire of the “Jarzębina” Ensemble from Kocudza.

The Jagiellonian Fair Orchestra is an educational and artistic project inviting people to make music together. Traditional dance music brings together musicians, listeners and dancers, while also serving to promote the folk culture of the Lublin region.

The project had its premiere during the Jagiellonian Fair in 2014. It was created on the basis of educational projects dedicated to learning performance styles in traditional instrumental music of the Lublin region, carried out between 2007 and 2013 by the Dziobak Brothers Band from Wola Destymflandzka (Ewa Grochowska, Krzysztof Butryn, Edyta Piekarczyk).

In 2021, the Orchestra recorded the album “Sesja otwarta”.

“This album is something that will allow you to travel through time and space. Imagine that it is July, you put on an elegant hat and set off on a journey through the Lublin region. As you travel, you listen to beautiful Roztocze music (and more)”

– encourages listeners to let their imagination wander Ewa Grochowska, one of the leaders of the Jagiellonian Fair Orchestra.

The album can be purchased in the online shop of the Workshops of Culture in Lublin.
