Tomas Antropikas is a young artist dedicated to the traditional crafts of weaving and tailoring.
Interestingly, his passion for folk culture was not inherited through family roots but sparked by television. As a child, he was inspired by the programs of Zita Kelmickaitė, a renowned Lithuanian ethnomusicologist. After seeing a weaver creating traditional sashes on screen, Tomas felt a call to pursue the craft himself.Under the mentorship of Rimutė Vitaitė, he mastered weaving techniques. Today, his creative process involves deep research; he frequently visits museums and studies archival photographs to recover and reconstruct forgotten historical patterns.
His collection features hand-woven shawls and sashes, along with traditional skirts and various folk accessories.
Tomas is a formal member of the Lithuanian Association of Folk Artists.
