In today’s fast-paced world, it’s worth holding on to our roots and traditions. And there’s no better way to share these values with children than through play and doing things together. Join the band Żemerwa for a lively journey to Podlasie, filled with traditional Belarusian games, circle dances, and folk dances.
Children will learn lyrics in the language of Podlasie’s Belarusians and take part in group activities that spark musical creativity. They’ll hop and laugh through Biehaw zajczyk po kapuści (“The Hare Ran Through the Cabbage”) and Tańcowała ryba z rakom (“The Fish Danced with the Crayfish”), and move to the rhythms of Lietiew busioł (“The Stork is Flying”) and Oj, czyjaż to berozońka (“Oh, Whose Little Birch Tree”). And to top it all off – traditional dances you’ll discover on the spot!
