Hailing from the vibrant region of Kovel, Halyna is a living testament to its rich textile heritage. Her journey began at the age of six when she first discovered the intricate world of cross-stitch. Yet, her passion extended beyond needlework. Alongside her siblings, she immersed herself in the ancient art of weaving, assisting her mother in every step from preparing the loom to crafting the finished fabric.
Both Halyna and her mother, Olha, are celebrated members of the Ukrainian Folk Artists’ Association. Their creations are a harmonious blend of tradition and artistry. Using natural fibers like linen, hemp, cotton, and wool, they weave and embroider exquisite tablecloths, delicate napkins, and iconic Volyn-patterned shirts, known as sorochka. Their repertoire also includes practical yet beautiful items such as skirts, aprons and bags.
