Lolomis creates a musical universe that encourages limitless imagination. Their distinctive instrumental lineup, which includes the harp, flutes, and percussion, combines with energetic vocals sung in different languages such as Serbian, Macedonian, Bulgarian, Georgian, Ladin, and even Finnish. The group is composed of skilled musicians who met in Strasbourg and embarked on shared adventures to Bosnia, Serbia, and Romania. The soundscapes that have emerged from these travels and influences are vibrant and dynamic, defying classification into a single musical genre.
They offer an extraordinary fusion of diverse stories, sounds, languages, and emotions. The charismatic vocalist, Romane Claudel-Ferragui, borrows lyrics from the traditions of many distant corners of Europe. The fusion of acoustic and electronic sounds is masterfully crafted by harpist Elodie Messmer, flautist Stélios Lazarou, and percussionist Louis Delignon. Together, they create a musical landscape that tells stories of love, life, and death, demonstrating that imagination knows no bounds. The fusion of modern sounds with traditional inspirations results in a rich, passionate, and mysterious experience. The songs on the album “Red Sonja” shine a spotlight on women’s stories, featuring tales of both young and old warriors and shamans from different times and places. The band takes listeners on an unpredictable journey that blends modernity and tradition, with bold gestures and a touch of mystery. Through phantasmagorical visions, they explore the hidden realities that surround us.
