Lucyna Kozłowska is a celebrated artist renowned for her intricate papercuts and expressive paintings. Inspired by the works of folk art masters Cecylia Czernikiewicz and Helena Szlufik, she embarked on her papercutting journey in 1995. Building upon their rich traditions, Kozłowska developed a distinctive style, crafting hundreds of papercuts based on classic Kielce designs.

Drawing inspiration from the enchanting folklore, natural beauty, and cherished memories of her Świętokrzyskie homeland, Kozłowska’s artistry flourishes. The papercuts of her grandmother and mother, displayed on a family sideboard, ignited her passion. Her creations are not merely artistic expressions but reflections of her deep-rooted love for the region and its heritage.

Complementing her papercuts, Kozłowska’s paintings explore the spiritual and familial realms. With a focus on religious themes and intimate family scenes, her acrylic works convey profound emotions. Saint Francis, a beloved subject, often graces her canvases. Each piece, whether paper or paint, tells a personal story, inviting viewers into her unique perspective of the world.

A dedicated member of the Association of Folk Artists and the “Skart” Club, Kozłowska is a respected figure in the artistic community. Her exceptional talent and commitment to preserving folk traditions earned her the prestigious Władysław Orkan Award. Sharing life and artistic passions with her woodcarver husband, Andrzej Kozłowski, completes this remarkable artistic duo.
