Dionizy Purta has been wood carving for around 50 years. His colourful works are consist of many individually made pieces. He makes birds, animals, and angels, among other things. He is a member of Folk Artists’ Association and the Society of Friends of Fine arts in Białystok. In 2020, he received the Oskar Kolberg Award for merits to folk culture.

He was also a holder of the scholarship granted by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
