About the event<\/h2>\n

During the singing workshop, we will discover traditional lullabies and try to learn their melodies. We will work with our voices and sing together, exploring different ways of performing these songs. No vocal experience is required \u2013 all you need is a willingness to sing.<\/p>\n

Lullabies sung by grandmothers, mothers and nurses were used not only to lull children to sleep, but also to protect them from evil forces while they slept. It was believed that during sleep, the soul separates from the body and travels, returning to its place when the person wakes up. Lullabies were also a way of building closeness and coping with the hardships of everyday life.<\/p>\n

About the instructor<\/h2>\n

Agata Harz<\/strong> \u2013 a singer and voice trainer who has been working with archaic singing techniques since the 1990s, successfully using them in her educational and artistic work and taking part in numerous projects, ranging from early music to contemporary experimental music.<\/p>\n
