Drawing on the rich heritage of Spanish Galicia, the artists will present a repertoire inspired by local folklore, especially its beliefs and dance music.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Caama\u00f1o&amp;Ameixeiras is a group whose name comes from the surnames of two women \u2013 Sabela Caama\u00f1o (accordion) and Ant\u00eda Ameixeiras (vocals, violin). The future artists encountered traditional music in childhood and, years later, gladly returned to these motifs.<\/p>\n<p>While working on their first album, they referred to legendary local musicians in order to recreate the character of regional dance music. When creating material for their second album, they decided to immerse themselves in old rituals.<\/p>\n<p>They wanted to learn more about them and understand them better, so they visited local museums and contacted an anthropologist who helped them enter the world of healing rituals popular in Galicia. Thanks to him, they met women who possessed a \u201cgift\u201d and were able to remove the so-called \u201cair of the dead\u201d. In these areas, there is a widespread belief that deceased people can bring pain and illness upon the living. It is therefore important to use appropriate practices to determine the cause of an ailment, where it is located and, if necessary, remove it, for example, by fumigating with specific herbs and reciting appropriate verbal formulas. This process leads to the transformation of bad air into \u201cthe air of the living\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Both this tradition and many other beliefs and rituals became inspiration for the creation of 9 songs on the group\u2019s latest album. During three August days and nights, Lublin transforms into the capital of living traditional culture.<\/p>\n<p>The festival program offers a wide range of attractions for both children and adults. It provides a unique opportunity to meet master artisans who, each year, showcase their exceptional handmade creations. Traditional music is also a key element of the Re:tradition festival, presented both in its authentic form and through the interpretations of contemporary artists.<\/p>\n<p>The festival also features evening dance parties with live music, workshops, exhibitions, performances, film screenings, and meetings.
