For twenty years, Piotr Rogali\u0144ski has been working at the intersection of theatre, music, and visual arts. All these paths have led him to create the exhibition presented as part of this year\u2019s Re:tradition festival.<\/p>\n
The artist introduces us to the world of his work:<\/p>\n
For this exhibition, I have selected mostly works that have not been presented before. I will show sculptures from two series.<\/em><\/p>\n
The first series, the so-called dark one, continues my earlier works, which tell stories of the hardships of life and serve as an alert for humanity and its actions.<\/em><\/p>\n
The second, bright series, was created in the form of a tree of life \u2013 with scenes referring to harmony, love, tenderness, and delicacy. Just as a tree connects the earth with the sky, so in human beings the earthly meets the spiritual, the tangible meets the fleeting.<\/em><\/p>\n
In both series, I use images inspired by folk toys: dolls, little birds, horses, flowers, and many others.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Based on old patterns, Piotr Rogali\u0144ski creates decorations and set designs for concerts and performances. He specialises in making toy sculptures and figures of carollers, which he uses as props in his theatrical work.<\/p>\n
As an actor, he co-created performances at Teatr Studio Czyczkowy and Teatr W\u0119gajty. He leads theatre workshops for young people and people with disabilities. He prepares programmes for children devoted to themes connected with folk culture. For several years, he has also played in bands performing traditional music.<\/p>\n
He is the author of numerous visual arrangements for historical exhibitions and concerts, including those for the Pozna\u0144 June 1956 Museum in Pozna\u0144.<\/p>\n
He has collaborated with institutions such as: IPN Pozna\u0144, Wielkopolska Museum of Independence, Dom Bretanii, CK Zamek in Pozna\u0144, and M. Kar\u0142owicz Philharmonic in Szczecin.<\/p>\n
