Kapela Bornego brings to life the vibrant music of traditional village weddings from the Western Roztocze region. Their ensemble features a unique blend of fiddle, suka, carved basses, and frame drum.<\/p>\n\n
Directly mentored by renowned musicians like Stanis\u0142aw G\u0142\u0105z, Bronis\u0142aw Bida, and Zbigniew Butryn, the band has deeply immersed themselves in the rich tradition of local string and brass bands. \n<\/p>\n\n
Inspired by the legendary Na Rozstajnych Drogach festival, which showcased the region’s finest musical talents, the band has cultivated a deep connection to their musical roots. <\/p>\n\n
Following in the footsteps of their mentors, who combined music with diverse crafts and rural life, the band members have forged a unique bond with the land and its traditions. From harvesting cranberries in the wetlands near the home of Stanis\u0142aw G\u0142az between Flisy and Kocudza, to traversing the historic route from Gr\u00f3dek to Za\u0142awcza, they’ve embraced the rhythms of their homeland. Countless hours spent in Zbigniew Butryn’s workshop, the band’s instrument maker and member of the famed Kapela Dudk\u00f3w, have further shaped their musical identity. \n \nToday, thanks to contemporary festivals like Fanfara and Roztr\u0105b, the Bornego Band continues to nurture this living tradition. <\/p>\n\n
As they say, the music chose them, not the other way around. For over a decade, they’ve remained steadfast in their commitment to preserving and performing this authentic folk music. \n<\/p>\n\n
