To make it easier for you to get to know The Jagiellonian Fair, we have prepared a dictionary of traditional culture terms which you may find handy both during and outside the festival. We will successively add more items to this collection.
This category includes Includes decorations and items that are (or were) important for annual local and family rituals, and for decoration interiors of houses or places of workshop, etc. This category includes, among other things, cut-outs, Easter eggs, Easter palms, straw or crepe paper ornaments, pajaki protective chandelier-like decorations, various accessories for caroling, harvest festival or wedding . Many of them were created again every year or on subsequent occasions, not only because of the impermanence of the material from which they were made, but also because of the customs and beliefs associated with particular rituals (e.g. the order to destroy/burn items after the time of their use)
